What is Amber?

Amber is not actually a mineral but the organic, fossilised resin of ancient trees that lived 25 to 50 million years ago. It is translucent in nature and can be a variety of colours, including: lemon, green, and orange. Amber was believed, by the ancient Greeks, to be little pieces of sunshine, and it is thought to promote romantic love.
